    All about the Everest Skydiving.

An excitingly extreme aerial adventure, Everest skydiving is an amazingly unique experience in the world. Skydiving is done from a plane or a chopper onto the world’s highest drop zone at Gorak Shep, Kala Patthar. The skydiving takes place in front of the world’s highest peak Mt. Everest (8,848 m), and the free fall takes you past some of the world’s highest mountain peaks. Jumping out of an AS350 B3 helicopter from 23,000ft and landing at Syangboche Airport (12,340ft) or at Ama Dablam Base Camp (15,000ft) is undeniably the highest commercial aerial event in the world, making it a perfect activity to add to any adventurer’s bucket list!

    Equipment & Safety

Everest Skydive requires specialized parachute equipment, all of which has been tested and approved for this amazing high-altitude adventure. All your equipment will be supplied and be ready for you at the Drop Zone location. The opening altitudes for your main parachute will be between 16,000ft and 18,000ft AMSL; the main landing area (DZ) is at 12,402ft AMSL. These altitudes demand large main parachutes of 300 – 400 sq ft and a reserve of similar size.

Each parachute system carries an AAD (Automatic opening device) for greater safety in parachuting. You will be issued with an Altimeter and thermal gloves. Your AGL will be corrected at 12,402ft and you will have a true reading on your altimeter as we climb to record highs. We will also provide you with a special skydiving oxygen system, which is well proven at high altitude, unobtrusive and most importantly, non-restrictive to body movement or vision. You will also be given a skydiving helmet and HALO goggles for your eyes. You will be fully familiarized with all the equipment, fitted and briefed by our crew members prior to jumping. Tandem passengers will be fully prepared by their tandem master prior to making their tandem descent.

Skydiving is an extreme sport, and therefore, like anything in life, has certain risks. However, all our crew have the skills and experience to make your tandem jump safe and enjoyable. The equipment is state-of-the-art and skydiving can be as safe as or safer than any other extreme sports.

Tandem instructors are required to pass an instructor certification course for the system they jump. All Everest Skydive instructors are so rated. Our jump crew are all trained in specialized HALO skydiving and been jumping in the Himalayas since 2008.Most countries have varying laws or regulations allowing who may skydive with a passenger or student. The United Kingdom requires each potential instructor prior to their training and examination to have over five hundred individual skydives and three years of skydiving experience. Individual manufacturers’ certification courses usually have additional requirements. All Everest Skydive tandem masters are qualified under British, American and Australian regulations to meet the manufacturers’ stringent requirements.
