Sri Lankan Monastery is located in the East Monastic Zone far right side from the eternal peace flame in Lumbini. The monastery is a beautiful Sri Lankan Buddhist temple that gives an understanding of the life of Gautam Buddha and its importance in the region. The Monastery has a sphere-shaped platform with a traditional pagoda on the roof.

These celebrations, events, and festivals may seem a little different than those followed in an ancient monastery in Lumbini. However, the motive and the teachings are almost the same. It also provides a sneak peek into the life of Gautama Buddha and emphasizes on its evolution throughout time. The Sri Lankan Monastery in Lumbini is a perfect illustration of a system of spiritual belief bringing two countries closer. Those wanting to explore the association must visit the monastery.

    The key attraction around the monastery is a large space covering the story of Buddha on walls inside the monastery, lotus flower pond, and meditation hall. Visitors can experience several religious events and practices in the monastery zone.

    It takes nearly 30 minutes by drive from Bhairahawa Airport to reach Lumbini and then 5-10 minutes by walk to reach the monastery.
