Manang Samaj Stupa

The Stupa is located in the corner of the Korean Templein the West Monastic Zone of Lumbini. The Stupa is built by Buddhists from Manang in Northern Nepal, is one of the oldest Stupas in Lumbini dated back to 600 BC. There is also a golden Buddha Stupa in the middle of the building enclosed with the colorful roof and images.

    All about the Manang Samaj Stupa.

    A chorten created by Buddhists from Manang in Northern Nepal, the Manang Samaj Stupa is known to be one of the oldest Stupas in Nepal, dating back to the birth of Gautam Buddha in 600 BC. There is a golden Buddha Statue in the middle of this building and is surrounded by colorful murals.

    There is no entrance fee and restriction to the Stupa.

    Key attractions

    Inside the Stupa, visitors and Pilgrims can practice melodious chant of Om Mani Padme Hume, meditation, and colorful arts and decoration in Nepalese style.

    It takes nearly 30 minutes by drive from Bhairahawa Airport to reach the Lumbini monastic zone and then 5-10 minutes by walk to reach the monastery.
